Helen Stephenson's Chislehurst 2004 May Queen Parade Pictures

This page contains clickable images.

The pictures on this page only happened because Stephen bought a Minolta Vectis 20 APS compact camera at a jumble sale for 50 pence. It's small enough to carry around in my handbag all the time, so when we happened to be in the Chislehurst High Street just as the May Queen procession was going from one of the local schools up to the Chislehurst Common, I pulled the little camera out of my handbag and took a few snaps. I took a few more when the parade was returning.

These pictures were scanned using the CanoScan FS2710 film scanner.

Here is the May Queen and her court, escorted by Brownies/Cubs/Scouts. I'm not well enough up on those organisations to say for sure which the escort was!

The Morris Men brought their own musical accompaniment with them.

I liked the "horse" and the mascot (maybe a Teletubbie?) who accompanied the Morris Men.

The marching band provided more music!
