We travelled down to Cornwall on a Saturday afternoon, arriving at the Globe Value Holiday Park once the evening was well advanced. It was raining when we arrived, but the weather had cleared up somewhat by the next day, when I took this picture of our caravan.

There was a spacious seating area at the front of the caravan, which we quickly turned into a "home from home". Stephen can be seen relaxing with a cup of coffee and a newspaper.

The front seating area was warmed by a gas fire, and also had the benefit of a small colour television set. Looking back down the caravan, the kitchen facilities and the eating area can be seen, along with the walls of the washing and sleeping modules.

Here are the kitchen facililties in a bit more detail. We had to take our own linen with us, and my "Australian road signs" teatowel is hanging from the end drawer!

The bathroom facilities were somewhat on the "compact and bijou" side. Toilet, shower and washbasin were all within a module which must have been 5' square at the most, but despite this, they were less cramped than some I've come across in rather more expensive accommodation. I did like the way my super wide angle lens magnified the toilet roll: I've had a giggle or two over that picture:-)

I should have tidied the pillows before I photographed the bedroom, but I didn't, so one pillow is upended on the tiny bedside table. (There's a little table on each side of the bed.) We brought a king size duvet with us, so there was quite a lot of overlap: there really is room to walk around the bed under all that duvet! There's also some cupboard space at the foot of the bed.

There is a second bedroom with crossover bunks. We used it as a storage area.

Caravan living turned out to be pretty comfortable. We could come and go as we pleased, and eat when we pleased, and having the caravan as a base worked out very well for our week in Cornwall.

With the exception of the picture of the outside of the caravan, which was taken with a less extreme lens, these pictures were taken with my Centon 18-28 super wide angle zoom lens. (There's a bit of vignetting present in the corners, which I've made no attempt to edit out.)

I had 200ASA print film loaded, and I used a flashgun on its wide angle setting with a diffuser fitted to compensate for the extremely wide angle lens. The lens was set to a fixed aperture and I let the flashgun work out how much flash to provide. It seems to have done a pretty good job. The camera body used was the Pentax MZ-M. I think I only put one film through this body during our whole holiday, as I was using 400ASA print film most of the time, and I had that loaded in my much older and totally manual Pentax KM.
