The weather forecast for the Tuesday of our holiday was better for Devon than for Cornwall, so we decided to head east for the day. We were actually aiming for a waterfall, but decided that we wouldn't be spending enough time there to justify the entrance fee, so we kept going and just looked at what we could see.

In the event, we found Brentor, which is a local high spot with a church at the top of the hill. I climbed up there with my camera gear, while Stephen elected to stay at the bottom and look after the car, as there was a lot of broken glass in the car park which seemed to indicate a high level of vandalism.

It was very windy indeed at the top of Brentor and all of these pictures were taken with the Ricoh KR-10 Super mounted on my tripod, using the Tamron 85-210 lens and Kodak Elite Chrome Extra Colour 100ASA slide film. Despite using the tripod, there is a bit of camera shake in this pictures, and I don't think they are suitable for projection.

I had very high hopes for these pictures, particularly the middle one, but that one also came out overexposed and required some post production manipulation on the computer to achieve the right saturation levels. I think that what went wrong was that there were a lot of fast moving clouds around and I waited until both the foreground and the church tower were in sunlight before firing the remote release. I was using aperture priority, and the camera's light meter saw the dark area of trees and compensated when calculating the exposure time.
