The Conwy Falls are close to the A5 near Betws-y-coed. It costs £1 to go through the turnstile

I spent a lot of time with neutral density graduated filters on my slide camera in an attempt to even up the exposure between the top left of the picture, which was in shadow, and the rest of the picture, which was in really bright sunshine. I then mounted the camera on a tripod so that I could get the water to flow with a long exposure. I managed the flowing bit, but either I put the neutral density grad in the wrong place or I didn't use a strong enough one. I think I did better with my print camera, where I processed the result in PhotoShop later to get some detail out of the top left.

The picture on the left with the man in the foreground came out of my print camera, while the other two came out of my slide camera. In the centre picture, I've got detail in the rocks, but the water has gone completely white, while in the right hand picture, I've exposed for some texture in the water, but the rocks are rather dark. All in all, I should have followed the advice about waterfall photography and waited for an overcast day!
