The euro is a rather pretty relative of the kangaroo. Unlike the Cleland kangaroos, which were only too happy to come and feed from your hand, the euros were rather more shy and tended to keep out of reach of their human visitors. They are masters of camouflage and blend amazingly well into their surroundings, as can be seen from the top left photograph. They have beautiful long striped tails, and I spent some time trying to get a photograph which really showed a euro's tail to advantage.
